To the Good People of OSTA, In this newsletter you will find a copy of the proposed Standing Rules. The Standing Rules have been in need of an overhaul and update for some time. The Executive Committee has put together this revision for you to consider. You can compare the revision to what we have now with what is on the OSTA website. You will notice some additions that clarify rules, especially for competition, and they are re-organized. They will be discussed at the next business meeting at the Ross County shoot and the membership will vote on them at the shoot in July. The competition fees which are $2 per competitor will go into effect at the next shoot as The Executive Committee is attempting to gauge the effect and cost of competition in OSTA and this is necessary to start at the beginning of this shoot season to get an accurate account. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive on the banquet/fun shoot combo we had at Apache Bowhunters. So much so that we will do it again next year. The weather might have thrown us a good curve back in early March. Apache has agreed to host us again next year so plan on it. We also had quite a few new members who joined OSTA at the banquet. You can see their names in the newsletter. Welcome any new face you might see at the shoots. At the Ross County shoot we will be having an arrow building party for the kids bow program. We are getting pretty low on arrows and we will have the materials. We just need you and your fletching jig. Matt is working with Paul Knisley on this and would appreciate your help. The kids’ bows were running low and we had to purchase some recently. Matt and I discussed this and we have quite a few members who bring kids who need bows. We want to make sure we are equipped to give non-member kids bows. If you are a member and you bring a kid who needs a bow for the shoot, we will gladly loan a bow for the shoot rather than give it away. We will always accept donations for the bows given away at our shoots. We want to keep this going and if a kid needs a bow and arrows we want to make sure we can take care of this. Your President, Jim Suttinger
