To the Good People of OSTA, We had a modest turnout for our shoot at Blackfhoof. Thanks to all those at Blackhoof who helped get everything set up and provide the good food. As always seems to be the case when we go there, the weather turned a bit damp. We ended up cancelling our meeting on Saturday due to a fairly heavy downpour. We had a quick meeting on Sunday prior to the awards presentation. One of the things we discussed was the need for someone (or a few people) to step up and make sure the kids targets make it to the shoots. Dan was able to drop of the targets on Friday at Blackhoof. We had eight kids shoot the “balloon shoot” on Saturday. Thanks to the folks that helped with the kids shoot and blowing up the balloons. Ed Jarvis was able to take most of the targets from the shoot and will be bringing them to our next shoot. Thanks to Ed and Fletch for helping take down the targets and backdrop. If anyone is interested in running the shoots and or taking care of the targets, please let me know. We also discussed the need for nominations for the office of secretary. Both the Secretary and the President positions are up for nomination this year and will be voted on at the state shoot. Ted will not be returning as secretary next year so we need to fill this position for sure. As I have said earlier, I am open to staying on if that is what the club wants. I have also been asking for input for next year’s schedule. I have had a few people offer their opinions or bring up possible options. There are a few clubs that we have not been to for a while that are interested in having us back. There has also been some interest from other organizations or events to have OSTA set up a booth or shooting range for education and promotion. Our next shoot will be July 9-10 at Rushcreek Sportsman. They will be having their all you can eat fish fry on Saturday for $8. These guys and gals always go out of their way to make sure we are well taken care of. I hope you all can make it and help support their club and efforts as well as our own.
